Nepal Association for the Welfare of the Blind is a national level social organization that works for the rehabilitation and empowerment of person with visual impairments. Established in the year 1985, NAWB has been providing its specialized services in eye treatment, blindness prevention, promotion of inclusive education and adopt inclusive approach for their holistic development. As this Organization gives special priority in promoting education of children with visual impairments, it has been producing braille text books for school students, distribute braille paper, white cane, slate, stylus and bag packs to the needy ones. Presence of Nepal’s largest braille library, low vision center, computer lab and the braille press stand as the evidences of its caliber in making a child with visual impairment capable enough to sustain in a long run. Serving for more than thirty years in the field of blindness, NAWB has been able to showcase its expertise in influencing the policy, people and the target groups with regards to education of BVI children.
